With the WES30 Mk1 connected to your farm, business, hotel resort, or any other location, you can harvest the wind and generate your own green energy.  In other words, "produce it where you use it"! This powerhouse can produce, depending on the wind availability, an average of 600.000 kWh/year of reliable and renewable energy.

Efficient, Reliable & All-Round

The technology and design of the WES30 is based on the WES18 with noticable differences being its size, the tower and the blades.  The WES30 is commonly used as a solitary wind turbine or in small wind farms.  It has the reputation of being durable and reliable.  The typical Dutch two-bladed rotor has a unique hinged system and a passive blade angle adjustment.  This unique mechanism needs very little maintenance.  Over 300 units are installed in many different locations, particularly in weak grids.  The WES30 Mk1 is now often favored as a "behind-the-meter" wind turbine at business parks and factories.  With its choice of towers up to 48 meters, the WES30 has very little impact on the environment and/or nearby airports.

The WES30 is also available as a Hybrid Wind/Diesel system.  For more information, please go to our WES Hybrid System page.

Sturdy & User-friendly

The WES30 is a sturdy and user-friendly wind turbine that can be installed and used in logistically difficult locations. Some of the advantages of WES30 are:

  • user-friendly
  • easy in maintenance
  • high reliability
  • easy installation at difficult locations
  • low loads on the gearbox and axle
  • the AC/DC/AC principle allows the turbine to follow the grid
  • mechanical passive blade pitch and active yaw applied

Size

With a 30m rotor diameter this a medium sized turbine. With 30, 39 or 48 meter towers it can even be erected with relatively small cranes at difficult locations.

State-of-the-Art

In 2007 WES introduced its new state-of-the-art IGBT Control Cabinet with the commissioning of first two new WES30 Mk1 wind turbines.  Since then the new control and inverter cabinet has proven to be an extremely stable platform that outperforms any other turbine in this class.

WES has designed new software and combined this with new IGBT converters from Control Techniques Ltd., bringing the proven WES30 wind turbines into the 21st century.

The new Control Cabinet includes:

  • a new user-friendly PLC interface
  • dynamic output control
  • remote monitor & control system
